If you are on Medicaid and need help with day-to-day activities you can be eligible for in-home care.
There are two types of care assistance available, and your level of need determines the services you can receive.
ADL Assistance – Activities of Daily Living (ADL) are activities related to personal care such as bathing, dressing, general hygiene care, eating, transferring or getting around the house.
IADL Assistance – Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) are activities related to independent living including light housekeeping, changing bed linens and clothing, meal planning and preparation, shopping (up to 4 hours per month), travel to and from appointments and assisting with prescribed medicine routines.
To determine if you qualify and at what level of care, a “functional assessment” is performed.
